Kootenay Swiftwater Specialists is owned and operated by Chris Armstrong of Nelson, British Columbia.
Chris has been an avid outdoorsman all of his life. Working in the adventure tourism and professional rescue industry he has worked as a commercial rafting trip leader, hiking guide, and technical rescuer.
Chris is a Master Instructor of Swiftwater, Ice and Technical Rope Rescue for Rescue Canada Resource Group. He is trained in Search and Rescue management, medical response, mountain rescue, and is a team leader in the disciplines of swiftwater, rope rescue and organized avalanche response.
Chris gives back to his community with his expertise by volunteering with Nelson Search and Rescue, BC Search and Rescue Association as a director at large for marketing and finance. He is also employed by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General as a BCCS investigator.
